Inauguration of the European Cup for amateurs. Poland fights in the International Amateur Basketball League.

Just ended International Basketball Tournament Independence Day in Sopot. Team of League Srodowiskowa, defending the honor of Poland, made its debut in the competition played in the International Amateur Basketball League 2012/2013.

 

Inauguration of the International Amateur Basketball League took place on Saturday at the sports hall of the 100th anniversary of Sopot. Six teams joined the competition: the representation of Latvia Amateur Basketball League, Belarusian Basketball League, Monsters League (Ukraine), two teams of Lithuania - Kaunas Basketball League and Vilnius Basketball League and the hosts Pomeranian League Srodowiskowa.

The first five of tournament: Martynas Jokubauskas (MVP of tournament, Lithuania, Vilnius), Alexander Ryhluk (top center, Ukraine), Spartak Pahrebneu (the best 3-point shooter , Belarus), Maris Gravis (the best shooter, Latvia), Martin Makander (thr best quarterback , Poland).


International Basketball Tournament Independence Day is organized by the PMEDIA in collaboration with the School Complex No 3 in Sopot and the association of Trivium EWP. Drinks Coca-Cola will help basketball players to cool down emotions. The honorary patron exercises Pomorskie Marshal Mieczysław Struk and President of Sopot, Jacek Karnowski.

 

Competitions of International Amateur Basketball League consists of six tournaments - in Sopot, Vilnius, Riga, Kaunas, Minsk and Kiev. The competition takes place in the system – match and the revenge match. After completion of basic phase, the final tournament will be playing in the Crimea with the four best teams.
